I had my X2 lite installed with pogo pins and today they went out of alignment. I couldn't get them lined up again . So I just said "screw it i'll solder the damn thing in!" After about 30 mins I hooked everything back together and IT WORKED ! I'm so happy!

If you practice alot, and have fine tip soldering irons (and .015 solder), you can solder the really really really small resistors and chips on motherbards and all different electronics (SMT stuff). I have been soldering for about 3 years now and i am pretty good! Keep up the practice...soldering is fun...well at least for me it is, but i am the type that wants to be a hardware engineer!

I know the feeling. When i first did my xbox, i had never seen a modded xbox, nor had i seen evox in the flesh or xbmp.
Imagine my leap for joy when after 2 hours soldering my xbox booted up with the xecuter2 logo and into EvoX. Just knowing that I now had the coolest xbox out of all my mates.

Great Stuff.
Yep same feeling. I had never seen any of it in the flesh, you should have seen how I acted when I saw the size of the chip, lol. I thought the chips were like, 6 inches x 6 inches...Hehe. Good times.

Take a peek at a PS2 chip up close. A Magic3 is about a third of the size of an X2.

Yeah I'm glad I got my X2 soldered in but I don't think I will be soldering a ps2 mod in anytime soon.

congrats . I have a feeling there are still alot of noobs out there who have not "seen the light" and are still fiddling around with those damn pogo pins. Glad you had the "balls" to solder that thing in (it is actually fairly simple to do as you found out). Good job.
