move the hairdryer around, DO NOT LEAVE IT IN ONE SPOT!! you will melt your box and totally be fckd. then use a small screwdriver to pry the jewel form the top and insert say... a butterknife for leverage..work your way around the jewel and before you know it... POP. there it is.. be careful though, its very easy to scar the top of the box.

or instead of a screwdriver, use a butterknife... no sharp edges and is wider so it doesnt dent anything smile.gif ... but only do it if you don't want to do tha blowdryer thing

the blowdryer or steam are the best ways. Pry it off _gently_ with a flathead screwdriver, or a butterknife. a butterknife actually works really well.

The trick for best results is patience - dont rush it and it will look amazing.

yeah... tha butterknife is what I used (no steam or any other heat, just knife)... no problems at all... I just wouldn't recomend tha screwdriver because of tha sharp edges... those can dent tha jewel and tha case.

just use tyksak's method.

take the case off and boil some water, put the case on top of the boiling water but in a way so its not resting on the pot. the jewel should come right off in 5 mins.

The way I took off my jewel was real easy (After dremeling). I dremeled around the jewel in the back, to take out the black plastic behind the jewel. If your careful you will not ruin or touch your jewel. After the plastic was out, I could see the back of my jewel. Then I layed my cover with jewel face down on my bed so when I apply pressure to the jewel from the back the jewel can still pop out and not damage my xbox. Then I took a colone bottle which is about the size but just a little bit smaller then the size of my hole that I cut out, any glass bottle or hard flat object would work..I used a colone bottle since it was the right size and it was glass. Then I applied a considerable amount of force from the back, don't worry about breaking the jewel if the object applying pressure is covering most of the jewel. Then the jewel popped off intact, glue and everything, then just peel off the layer of rubber glue and voila!

Hope it helps anyone! smile.gif
