The F:\ drive is only for large, upgraded hard drives and does not exist on the included hard drives.

There is no F:\ Drive on 8GB stock hard drive, F:\ only exists if you upgraded your HD or you formatted the partition (although it will still show up on FTP and such even if it's non existent)

Seagate HDD are 10Gb but to get the extra 2Gb you need to format the drive. I have used newHDEvox to format and prepare a drive. You must make sure that you backup your existing files, as these will be wiped by the formatting.

Not necessacarily. You can just format F: if you want.

EDIT: It important to back up everything anyway, just in case!

I beleive only the Seagate brand hard drives are 10gb, however they seem to be very common in xboxes.
