Okay... so a friend of mine has a matrix and wants me to put it in his xbox. Easy enough, right. Well, his LPC has no soldier in the holes. So the matrix isn't getting aligned propperly (my guess). So i figure i have to put some soldier in the holes. Before i do that, i was wondering if there was any other methods and if not what is the easiest way to fill em with soldier. I'm thinking of taking the mobo out and putting tape on the back of the LPC then cutting little chunks of soldier and dropping them in. Then just go around and tap them with the iron. What about pin headers? Any help would be nice, thanks.

all MB's 1.1 and above and no solder in the lpc points. i dont see why you will need to fill them. its suppose to be solderless chip. also dont forget the d0 point has change from v1.0 mb. check the site to get the correct d0 point

It is not necessary to fill the holes with solder, the pins should make contact with an edge of the hole while still making contact with the d0. I am not sure how to go about filling the holes. And the pin header isn't what you need for this task...

You can just cut off bits of solder, and drop them in the spots. I had to do that for a friends 1.2 xbox, and a X2 chip. It worked pretty good i think. But like stlmike said isnt it supposed to be a solderless chip? And...it does not have to be IN the hole...the LPC's have a small metal ring around each hole, and that is all it needs to make contact with.
