Pcsxbox And Metal Slug X, Black screen when MSX is selected! Options

Hi there,

Is anybody experiencing problems with PCSXbox and Metal Slug X (and in generel)? I've installed PCSXbox v9 and have the proper bin/cue files for Metal Slug X, but every time I select the actual .bin file, PCSXbox simply returns to the previous screen and blanks the display(into black)???
The background music is still running in the background but no matter what I do I have the blank screen - I have tried to delete the related data in UDATA directories - heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp! :-/

Ok this is either going to show me as a no nothing person or make you look like a complete idiot but. Isn't Metal Slug X a Neogeo rom not a playstation1 which is what PCSXbox does and needs to be run on Kawa-X instead

I believe metal slug x was released for the psx, originally was arcade/neogeo game

why do u want to run metal slug x on the psx emu instead of using kawaX

See if you dont forgot to include a proper psx BIOS because its not included with the emu

How is Kawa compaired to MameX an MameoX... everyone keeps saying Kawa an not mame...?

I run msx on pcsxbox v 9 fine. Emulates perfect. Except for when you get to the boss on the second level. Then for some reason the controlles disable and you can't move anymore.

Kawa is good for NeoGeo games and any over the normal memory limit on the other emulators.

Yeah, as always... The real idiot(Jezz X) shows up afterwards... :-/

But for the more constructive forum members... :-) Yep, MSX were released for PSX about a year ago and is one great game - the reason why I wrote about my problems with it in accordance to PCSXbox, was because of the compatibility list which says "go!" for MSX - It's been reported as "okay" for both org. BIOS and HLE, but my problem seem to be incompatibility with version 9?

What version PCSXbox are you guys running together with MSX? :-)

Detron - dunno, man. Metal Slug X works fine for me thus far on PCSXbox. However, I have not played through the end of level 2, so Lowry's comment about the controllers not working might be valid.

Let's do some troubleshooting, yall!

1. Have you tried your Metal Slug X bin/cue files with an earlier version of PCSXbox?

2. Have you tried any other PSX game besides Metal Slug X on PCSXbox? Did they work?

3. Have you attempted to make another bin/cue file, just to make sure that you don't have a messed up iso?

Also, in regards to Metal Slug X, I'll also recommend playing it on Kawa-X. It's more animated, the blood is red (no sweat!), and there's pretty much NO loadtime. But hey, if you have youre heart set on the PSX version, lets get you up and playing...

And regarding Metal Slug X and Kawa - no problem, got the ROMs for it but I just happened to have MSX for PSX lying around and is curious on the emu subject 'PSX on Xbox'... :-)

And last but not least - did dump my org. PSX demo CD and it worked flawlessly, both in org. BIOS mode and HLE mode! :-)
