or do I HAVE to ground that bitch? IS there some feedback that the fan understands if the black wire isnt grounded? any details would be great, as well as personal experience. Does this make the fan louder, quieter? Does it make an appreciable temperature difference? thanx all ehb

as with everything electrical there is a negative current. You have to ground it or you get nothing. Yes, it is quite a bit louder, but it is not loud in general (compared to pc fans), and as increasing the voltage, increases rpm's, it increases cfm, which increases cooling.
