Sweet! Thanks for the updates guys.

I used the region free first on a virgin dash
then the progessive patch

And the progressive patch didnt work after as it was only ouputing the dvds at 480i.

So I'll go back home today and apply the region free on top of the progressive patched dash I have now. beerchug.gif

That's my problem - I don't know how to use it.


1. After downloading progpatcher to HDD on PC, open dos shell (command prompt in XP)
2. copy the .xbe (xboxdash.xbe in this case), into the same folder as progpatcher (not 100% needed but make it easier)
3. type the following in the dos shell c:progpatcher xboxdash.xbe (assuming that progpatcher is on your root c: drive and not in a folder
4. Progpatcher will patch and will make a copy called xboxdash.xbe.patched
5 copy the new file back to xbox HDD and rename to xboxdash.xbe (you need to move or delete your original file)
Reboot and low and behold full progressive scan glory!!!!

It works!
My xbox is a 1.0 and DVDRXv1.0 doesn't recognize the dashboard.
Before the patch, I tested with a real R4 DVD and it stop at the wrong region screen
After the patch: beerchug.gif pop.gif beerchug.gif pop.gif beerchug.gif pop.gif pop.gif beerchug.gif beerchug.gif

My system configuration:
K:1.00.4034.01
D:1.00.4920.01

I have a 4817.01 dash and i didn't work.

Even tried with a hex editor, the dash then boots but resets as soon as i put in a DVD disc.

Hoping for a patch that will do 4817 smile.gif

I have.
4034 and 3944 not working.
Bios x4976.02 on both machines

3944 patched OK but has no effect. Still get invalid DVD region.
4034 will not patch at all.

I can provide both xbe's.
Would be nice to have a universal patcher.

note : for people having dash 4034 (and previous ?) (erexx & hessian), you can use dvdx v1 ( http://downloads.master4best.com/xbox/x-ec...r_dvdx_v1.0.zip ) to pach your dash !

Thank you, thank you! I have been messing with the original dvdx-1 patch forever now and couldn't get the damn thing to work, i even have the original dash. Your patch was slick as crap, work perfectly the first time! Kudos to you!
