Is there another way to install linux without directly attaching a keyboard and mouse to xbox?

also, has anyone tried splicing the controller wire and attaching the xbox usb wire to a standard pc usb wire so you don't have to sacrifice a controller port?
i know you can attach usb to the back of xbox but I was just looking for a simpler way.

The simplest way is an xbox controler cable (break away- 1 footer) and a usb extension. Cut and splice then just plug one end in to xbox other in to keyboard (possibly with a hub so you can plug the mouse in also)

The wire colors all match up, just leave the yellow on the xbox end disconnected.
