Hello,

I would recommend getting a Nikon, Olympus or Cannon camera as they have great lenses and take the best quality pictures.

I have a Nikon Coolpix 2000 that has been hardly used and is in absolute perfect condition. Comes with all original stuff plus I have a 128MB mem card with it. Looking for $165 which includes priority shipping to US and Canada.

If your not interested, no prob.

check out the coolpix 2000 here: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2002_review.../nikon2000.html

also check that site out for reviews of other cameras.

DOn't get a Sony... I have one, and it's okay, but not worth the money, and the battery dies before it should. PIctures are okay, but not fantastic.

I have a canon s400 which is out of your range but the best digital camera i've owned. Maybe a cheaper canon like the s230 or something, i don't know their prices but good cameras.

congrats on the 1000th black light

A while ago I bought a digital camera. It is a 3MP model, 3x digital zoom (no optical) with 8Mb internal memory (I also got a 64Mb card for it) for $200 Canadian.

I find electronics are so cheap nowadays, you can (mostly) safely go for a cheaper camera. UNLESS, that is, you want it for professional stuff. For family, friends, and Xbox modding, It's okay to go a little cheaper.

If you like in Canada, go into London Drugs seeking advice on Digital Cameras. They don't work on comission and are obsessed with cameras, so they are always glad to help out.

If you can afford that!

Best camera on the market right now (for price):
Gateway DC-M40

(BTW, Canon makes the camera for gateway...)

4megapixel and optical zoom for $200 is unheard of. This just came out on Thursday and I picked one up. It takes pictures just as good as my olympus that was $500 a year and a half ago wink.gif

Honestly people might think I'm jokeing but look in pawn shops. People get rid of some real nice stuff because they're in a jam. Either that or it's stolen.
But go check out local pawn shops. The stuff they got there suprise you.
Here's a simple barter tip. Look at one cheaper then ask the person helping you why,the one you want, is more expensive. Then tell'em you buy the one you like if it was cheaper.
I bought a MiniDisc player for 50$ and it was better then the one I allready bought for $250!
Check'em out. Plus it's always better to give back to your community then large corp.s
