Okay Ive kind of looked around on different sites concerning dvd-rs but nothing seems to answer my question, or maybe Im just asking it in a stupid way laugh.gif

anyway, with a dvd-r, how is the space available used? for example, if I attempt to burn 2 or so gigs of mpeg files to a disc, would it be watchable in a dvd player or just readable as raw data? Essentially what Im looking for is a way to free up HD space so instead of juggling between what I keep on my 2nd hd, I can burn things I dont necessarily want to watch anytime in the near future but would like to have available, and if its possible to do so, be able to burn, say, an entire seasons worth of shows to one dvd, bring it to a friends house, and have 5 or 6 hours worth of watching fun play on a regular dvd player.

hi, i'm not an expert, however i do have a dvd-r drive, and will try to help you out.

you cannot put just mpg files on a dvd-r and watch it on a dvd player. This means you must convert all your porn files over before you can burn them on a dvd and take over to your friends house and watch.

hopefully someone else can come and enlighten you even more on this topic.

a dvd-r can be thought of as a giant cd-r. you can use it for storing data. you can also make video dvd-r's. see http://www.dvdrhelp.com for all your dvdr video needs.
