ok. Here it is as promised. My little surprise. Got this idea the other night. A promo for the upcoming MednafenX-NES public beta release. I figured it was about time. Plus I figured it would be fun to play with Youtube annotations.

I apologize for the editing (in particular sound). Didn't have much time to slap this together. Anyone notice the audio easter egg? Something I'd like to add someday.. Just wish I could record this thing in Hi-def (720p).

Oh and before anyone asks about the bear. It's an inside joke with my family.

Drat! I knew i forgot something... Adding that in would be easy. Due to the way I created the video. The hard part, though, is making the annotations match..

Maybe I'll be able to squeeze it in at the end where things slow down a little bit..

Drat! You got that damned Sonic song stuck in my head again. I think it subliminally burned into my brain when Gilles had it as the Genesis BGM while I was doing all the Genesis testing. My bro's girlfriend loved it though. I guess she knew where it came from.

Nice TV too. Mine is a 51" but it's one of the tube monitors projection screens so it's a real heifer compared to that slim, sexy piece of machinery.

Madmab, have you any plans to use Cospefogo's enhanced keyboard in the beta? (Original appears in the video.)

Awesome Checking the forums 10x a day for beta news finally pays off. Cant wait to get these for nes and genesis so I can have a "complete" emulator setup once and for all.

Hmmm I didn't think about the fact that even though the keyboard is not used in-game that it is used on the other screens. I still need to add it and try the one with transparancy...

Yes that is a Phat xbox controller you saw there. I actually have two of them from the original Xbox. One of my S controllers pretty much died and the analog stick on the other is flakey so I had to dig out the old phat controller.

I might end up just making a second video with the stuff I missed. I'm not sure how easy it is to upload a new video over the old one and keep the annotations intact..

i just found a FF7 nes hack and was wondering if this would play it? I wanna play this on my xbox and cannot find an emulator that will play it. I tried it on Mednafenx-nes v10 and it said ines mapper 163 is not supported. If this is posted in the wrong spot im sorry, i just joined the message board. thanks

At this point the release is mostly an interface upgrade. No internal core emulator updates at the moment.

you could try fcultra another nes emu for xbox.

I haven't heard of that hack. I'd be interested in seeing it.

No promises or nothing, but XT did figure out how to add another mapper to the emu. If there is code out there somewhere perhaps that mapper could be added as well. XT's got a ton of personal stuff going on now though, so who knows when he will be able to devote even the time to stop by and say hi.

I'm just saying that even though we might not see it for a while (ever?) I do believe it would be possible to make that hack work on this emu if the right people were looking at the problem.
