Really wanna use "System menu with subs" insted of the lame "music copy 1/2" menu for my Applications sub menu..

I really want this

[Applications]
>[Utilities]
>[Dashboards]
>[Emulators]
>[Other]

with each one going to a dif option..

I would also like each sub to look either the soundtrack OR settings menus..

OK, after many hours trying to get this set up it doesnt seem to work right??

Is the best way to select a "FOLDER" as the source for each folder? for example:

>[Utilities] - folder://apps//utils
>[Dashboards] - folder://dashboards

?? not sure if that syntax is right but you get the idea ??

I tried this? but the items either do not work or go all "wierd"

any tips? help? whatever?

I will post screenshots of the strangeness if i get time...

Tried this again, didnt work, let me explian.

Set up the PROGRAMS main menu, pressed L+A to go to settings....

This time I set the sub menus to "3" and named them "utilities", "emulators" and "dashboards"

smile.gif at first I tried to pointing them all to selected folders:

"utilities" >> folder >> Apps\\utils (case sensitive)
"emulators" >> folder >> Apps\\emu (case sensitive)
"dashboards" >> WOULDNT LET ME SELECT THE FOLDER OPTION???? mad.gif

blink.gif So I just selected "Dasboards" from the options

OK, saved these settings, IGR just in case, went to the menu AND:

"utilities" - did NOTHING? pressed the button and sad.gif nothing unsure.gif
"emulators" - hey! it worked smile.gif
"dashboards" - AHH! mad.gif took me to the HARD DRIVE menu! you know the one sad.gif

THEN:

I tried re-setting ALL my main folder options in the Config menu so:

Applications >> folder >> Apps\\utils
Games >> folder >> Games
Emulators >> folder >> Apps\\emu
Dashboards >> folder >> Apps\\Dashboards

Saved this and THIS TIME set the PROGAMS menu like this:

"utilities" Applications
"emulators" Emulators
"dashboards" Dashboards

AGAIN, saved it all.. IGR just in case, went into the menu and:

"utilities" - did NOTHING? AGAIN sad.gif
"emulators" - the HARD DRIVE menu! you know the one sad.gif
"dashboards" - the HARD DRIVE menu AGAIN!

So I gave up and came here for your help sad.gif

HAS ANYONE GOTTEN SUB-MENUS SET UP USING THE "System with Subs" OPTION??

Cos it seems to me its a lost cause uhh.gif uhh.gif uhh.gif

I was having the same problem. the first time(when i didn't select folder as the source) all of the sections went to a different spot and didn't work, but i finally got it working by selecting folder as the source for everything. After i got everything how i wanted it i pushed start and x on each of the folders, and it worked. I don't know why, it might be a coinsidense(spelling?) but i can go back and change things and it works everytime now. I've got Games, Dashboards, Applications, Operating Systems, Emulators, and Homebrew Games sections. I know it sounds dumb, but it worked for me.

Sounds like a plan! smile.gif I will try this when you get back to me!

Any chance you could send some screens of this workin? I cant belive it blink.gif apparantly its simple using rge fukdb patch wink.gif

GAH!

OK, I followed your advice and bashed the X button and start on ALL the options,, it SEEMED to work for the top 2 options but number 3 didnt work!

I tried some more sad.gif and some more sad.gif I tried sending the 3rd sub menu to the "Emulators" and not a folder, nope sad.gif it just sits there?

Is this a BUG, should I give up???? sad.gif

i had that same exact problem, what i did was i kept pushing right, and even though it didn't say folder, when i pressed a it did bring up the menu that let me enter the name, and everything worked. For some reason i could never get emulators to work from the third one, so i just put apps there and emus on top.

Hope that helps

HA!! HA!!

I KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH NUMBER 3

I could not get sub menu 3 to do anything at all! It just failed at every attempt!

1, 2 and 4 all work great! When you select either Folder: or one of the standard options such as Dashboards but good old number 3 keeps kikin you in the nuts..

Lets hope its fixed for tHc lite/full jester.gif

THANK YOU! So much for this info, I REALLY did think I was goin MAD grr.gif I couldnt sleep! sleeping.gif

Anyhow, I have to admit that in the end I Gave up sad.gif and seletled with the less splendid "Music Copy with subs 1" option sad.gif it looks crap but works sad.gif MAybe I can skin it so the text looks nice and doesnt go all BIG! when you select it and get rid of that crappy XBOX background on the list,, when I do! (IF) I will let you know....

Unless someone comes up with a fix for number 3 wink.gif

Folder: Utilities; Name: Utilities
Folder: Dashboards; Name: Dashboards

I run green man smile.gif

What do you mean anyway? Do you have it working with the "Settings w/subs?" or is it using the standrd music style one??
DaBeast77
I have it working with settings menu w/subs. As long as you have the newest version of the green dash it will still work because the share tHc.data folder. Is your tHc.data folder on the root of the C:/ drive or is it in the tHc_Dash_v1G.10027100 folder? If you have the newest version i can just send you my tHc.data folder, so you'll have settings w/subs. If you have the older one i'll just get my older one working and send you that.
