Ok..I need some advice. I've recently aquired a 1.6 box (unopened). It's sporting an error 21 after ani. I decided to install a pin header on it to temporarily use a xenium to check out whats going on.

Here's what i can do:

Xenium boots
I can upgrade xenium OS
I can flash bios
I can read contents of dvd drive (samsung)
I can read contents of Hard drive (which is all folders and 3 files (2 xtf files and xboxdash.xbe)
Lock/Unlock HDD
Backup EEPROM

Here's what i cant do:

Anything related to ethernet
FTP, SMB, Webserver, telnet.

Here's the problem:

When i boot without chip, i get error 21 after animation, when i boot past the OS of the Xenium...it immediately shuts the console down even before the ani. I noticed that the amber light on the ethernet port is on whether its connected to network or not.

Any ideas on a fix? otherwise I'll probably just unlock the drive..backup the eeprom and get a replacement 1.6 board and restore the eeprom from the original board.
