I don't know if you've picked up a joystick system yet, but I bought the 2-player X-Arcade unit and it's awesome! They actually just released a version that has the trackball too, I'm kind of bummed that it came out after I shelled out all that $$ on the regular 2-stick unit. Here's a link to the 2-stick unit with the trackball:

You can also swap out the buttons and sticks with other colors from Happ Controls; the buttons are like $2 a pop or so. Make it look like the SFII cabinet if you want smile.gif I was going to build my own arcade cabinet over the summer using an Xbox and some emulators, but I ended up getting scammed big-time by a modder and ended up out of cash and hardware. However, the blog is still up and I am still gathering the parts I need for it. For some reason XBS filters out the blog-spot address, but here it is:

Kaidomac, don't post links that x-s doesn't allow, and don't work your way around the censor with litttle tricks like you used.

That's against the rules.

Bummer, thanks for the heads up. Is there another way of linking to sites like that that is allowed? I mean, its just my blog about my xbox project, there aren't any ads or anything. Thanks.

I'm actually going to be doing the same thing. However, I looked at the joystick and everything looks cool, but is there a way to secure it down? Also is there plexiglass over the top of it like actual arcades?
Also, one last question, where is the select start button? Seems they are short 2 buttons in total if you count the 2 white buttons.

There are 2 buttons on the side and another button on the top, plus all the ones on top. As far as the plexi goes, you'd have to do that yourself. imo it already looks great; plexi would just be more maintenance since you'd have to clean it all the time. As far as securing it down, I was just going to build an open xbox to drop it into because of the buttons on the side and back. You can always rewire them since they use standard arcade buttons. If you go that route, you can just build a flush-fit top or make it so the top of the arcade panel sits on top of an open box design with an indent so that dust doesn't get inside the machine. Just so that it kind of "sits" on top of the panel box. Alternatively you can just gut it completely, drill holes for the buttons, and integrate it into your own scratch-built panel. That way you don't have to worry about the electronics working or not. $130 seems like a lot, but compared to other systems it's a great deal, plus it already works with Xbox.
