Full Version: Any Ideas How To Fix This 93450c Drive?

For starters I am in the UK.

Ok so was in the process of soldering a LT switch onto the board and all seemed to go well. I soldered the LT switch on and then connected the drive up to a CK3 pro. All was fine and the lights where switching between red and green when the switched between normal and R/W.

Anyway I think I knocked something when trying to read the firmware and the LED's no longer came on. I read the troubleshoot so went back - re soldered, went over the trace cuts again and cleaned up the solder points again.

Problem is now no matter what I do the LED's stay only green - even when switched - The drive no longer ejects and JF no longer detects the drive. I put the drive back in the 360 to test quickly and I just get flashing lights as the 360 isnt picking up the drive.

Anybody have any idea what I have done wrong? If there isn't an easy fix I am more than willing to pay somebody to fix the drive and dump the key for me.

Thanks in advance.

assuming you have not shorted the drive which i doubt and as long as everything is intact ie:tracks and vias i can have a go.you wont see the drive in jungleflasher if it aint introd so thats nothing to be worried about.

if you want me to have a go and if its dumpabale i will dump it and flash it for you.you can shoot me a messsage,i am in bradford.i will charge you though but, only if i sort the job.done plenty of these drives.

Hi all, I've got the same problem. I am from Italy so I can't send you the drive.
But I would really love to receive your help, guys.

Jungleflasher doesn't recognize the drive anymore.
At the beginning when the drive was recognized, I wasn't able to read the key.
The status was 0x52. I checked the traces multiple times and the soldering as well.
The LT switch was showing both red and green light but I couldn't do anything.

Now JF doesn't recognize the drive anymore and the tray doesn't work!

Is is possible to restore it to original making the tray working again?
Do I have to make any sort of bridge to reactivate it?

PLEASE, HELP!
Thank you!

you got a fault with the drive.you need to remove the lt switch and reconnect any tracks you cut.you need to be sure that any solder on the board isnt bridging to other parts of the pcb, otherwise you will get shorts resulting in errors and a non working drive.

I wasnt going to post on the board again, but I fancy a challenge.

If the OP and the Itlalian dude want to send me their PCB's Ill do my best for them, at no cost.

You might not get the drive back, might be as well to only send PCB.

If you want to send it, email me - oggy [at] jungleflasher [dot] net

@pizzata - post of PCB to UK shouldnt be too expensive, if not, I know an Italian that might be able to help you (long shot)
