I'm wondering if this setup is possible??

XBOX Component -> RCA phono coupler (female to female) -> HDMI Male to 5 RCA RGB Audio Video AV Component Cable

This seems like a much cheaper option than to buy a box that converts component to hdmi if it works!!

No. Component is analogue, HDMI is digital. Just read the description and the reviews..........
