got board waiting on replys on the burst mod topic and had some LEDs layn around so I decided to mod my mouse.

Its pretty easy. One side note, it dose reduce tracking a wee bit. I dont know the mcd rating on the old LED but if you do know the rating use an LED that has one colse to it. I'm prolly gonna change mine soon. I was just board.

Here's my pseudo-completed watch case mod;

can be turned on from controller port 1 (yellow wire mod).

dimensions:
2.5" h x 13" long x 8" w

still some issues to hammer out; you can turn it on if you push down on it, and I want to redo the front to feature some sort of logo... It took appx 2 weeks to finish. There's a thread in this forum if you want pictures of the guts.

lmk what you guys think :-D
cyfi
pics dont work
i also found another orange LED around the house and changed my boring green LED on my computer speakers to orange
XtuRmN8r
it works for me, imageshack is kinda quirky, click the links instead of the pictures, see if that helps.
cyfi
cant get it to work, even tried pasteing the URL

I made the sig myself, including the background pic *bragging bastard* =).
Love your box.
The top looks awesome.

if that's your first mod, then i would love to see your next one

I would like to see my second one too =).
I'm trying to get hold of a new case so i can get started on something new.
It's kinda hard to be unique though.

Indeed. He had some great mods there ...and some really great tutorials!
I'm personally no big fan of those PC case/xbox--mods. For me it becomes something else then a mod when you totally abandon the xbox-case.
But that guy's really skilled and the box looks great.

You know, I would be posting a picture of my xbox with a clear case with two hard drives, leds in the controller ports, a usb port in the front, cold cathodes under the jewel and fan........

BUT

I fucking stepped on the clear case while it was off, breaking it completely, the usb port fell apart (pins are still there, but they will break if I don't do something), cold cahtodes haven't arrived, and my dual hard drives randomly don't load (ide cables touching stuff inside?)

And I only got two of my friends to come to my birthday lan party today.

Fucking great. Clear cases are $35, shipped.

Wow those are pretty nice. beerchug.gif But what exactly is the USB port mod for? unsure.gif
Savejonas
That buzz-saw mod is f'n awesome!!!! Also, I like that usb port mod you did. Very professional looking. If I'm not mistaken, the only time you use usb is for linux right?
Cronus130
some apps and dashboards also support usb (ex. ava & XBMC).

PFG my friend!! beerchug.gif
Bugnutz
thanks guys, I apreciate the positive feedback, since this was my first documented mod, I'll probobly do more.....

Next on the list is an intergrated s-video port and coaxle audio port. of course it's going to be set up with break-away plugs, so i can remove the ports or the motherboard without having to break out the soldering iron.

Also I've been looking for a method of installing a VGA connection so I can connect a VGA monitor, but this xbox is a 1.6, and there really isn't much info on the xcalibur video chipset. An of course I'm not willing to fork out $50+ for a pre-made cable...lol

This is a box I did for someone else, just for fun. They wanted something different than the original black/green and I was glad to oblige. Did it all in one day, not a slow, proffesional job, but fun to do! smile.gif

I have since painted the jewel white to match, I may post that pic late--just something for ya'll to look at.

Brahm2: Love the XBox in white, looks sweet. Just curious, why didn't you also paint the front of the optical drive to match the case?

The white box looks great, brojimh.
White is probably the worst paint to work with, but that looks like a good clean paintjob.

Finally: I neeed that white controller ...so give it to me.

the white xbox looks good but there is one little bubble on to the left above of the eject button and under the dvd tray.

I don't know what the deal is with that, when he gave it to me it was already like that--before I even took it apart.
I don't know if he tried to take it apart or what?!?

Thanks!
It is a jewel that I cleared. After I took those pics I took the jewel back off and painted it white to match the box--looks good. I'll try to get a pic of that up soon.

Thanks man.

That controller was an afterthought. I had paint left and really didn't know what to do with it so I just painted his one controller to match. He loved it and I kinda like it too.

thanks.

the little flick above the eject button happened when someone used a pocket knife to try and get the dvd bezel to come flush with the case.

I don't see anything wrong under the dvd bezel though?!?

I just completely finished my first xbox ever! First time solder job and everything. I had some incomplete pics posted about a month ago, but here is the finished product. All-in-all, I say it went well and I'm pretty pleased with it.

Here are the features:
V1.0 console, X2.6ce modchip with Evox M8+ bios, 120GB Seagate Barracuda HDD, Evox/Avalaunch dashboards, Arctic Silver 5 thermal upgrade, 7v or 12v fan speed selector switch, controller on/off button, DVD window, Frosted jewel, Red Cold cathode with external Power switch, controller port led's (2 8000mcd led's in each port), and a Paintjob.

Xbox off with a new paintjob

Rear panel showing cold cathode switch, Fan 7v or 12v switch, and a spare on/oof switch that is for a lighting mod someday in the future. Maybe some ELwire???
