the logo on top of the box took me over 8 hours and the front panel i had to make twice. because of this mistake:

the idea is to put another aluminium plate on the front, so that i only have a nice shiny border. There are only 2 controller ports on it, because the i only need 2 and if i buy more.. they're gonna be wireless

Wow that is very clean i like the top a lot

It's not much, just a 1.6v xbox in a SilverStone Lascala case. Modchip is Xenium ICE, HD is 160GB maxtor. Mods are 6 inch LCD display, blue cold cathode lighting, hard-wired dvd dongle, hard-wired logitech wireless controller, and shortened-width of faceplate. Hardest parts were extending the wiring, making the LCD and controller port face plates fit, and mounting the DVD drive. Hope you like it.

One last mod pic, this is of my Logitech Precision wireless controller. You can't tell, but under the Logitech symbol is a button that allows me to turn my Xbox on and off.

you should make the green thing around that light up when the xbox turns on

Yikes, I'd probably mistake them for chairs and sit on them. They'd break and I'd feel like a dumbass.

Amazing...I am a sucker for thoes kind of conversions. I really like your lcd too, any chance you could take a close up of it? i have some suggestions for you, maybe some blue or white controller port leds, that would be really cool. Good job in general! beerchug.gif

i find that a little to big for my tastes

here is what i did to my xbox. I got a xenium ice solder-less chip. I got a 200gb western digital harddrive. I upgraded my rear fan too a 80mm, new graphics processer fan to all my fans on my xbox, plus i put a old 80mm fan on top for a intake fan. I removed my dvd-drive and my hardrive which I put on top. I did that so my internal temp would be cooler. I only hook up my dvd-drive when i need to copy something. I run Xbox Media Center for my dashboard. It was the first time I did any on this so I know its kind of messy.

Let me just be the first to say messy doesn't begin to describe that. Why on earth did you destroy your xbox like that?

Only thing that looks good in your box is that GPU fan and the SPIce(nice choice).

Maybe you'll buy a replacement case?

saying it's messy is a little generous

I think you could have executed that much better. The case does look great but to be frank it looks like you just sat an entire xbox inside it. That's just cheap as hell.

It is the opinion of myself that the vocabulary of which I forementioned was not entirely sophisticated or of a substantial degree difficulty for anyone attempting to comprehend. Also, my hiararchial status within the educational institution that I am attending is not of high importance in the deciphering of any messageboard discussions. Had I neglected to implement the proper forum etiquette then one could conjecture that a worthy chastisement would have ensued.

Seriously though, I didn't think it was any kind of hard vocabulary or anything.
Jorde907

Yeah, it's still a "work in progress". Next I plan to do the controller ports and the power button, then maybe add some cold cathodes.

wow, that is seriously the nicest xbox i have ever seen with an lcd screen in it.
looks great how you have the lcd behind where the front panel is. looks really good, and its a mini box aswell tongue.gif.

ports are professional looking.

just get some leds in that jewell and it would be complete.

kudos to you, thats perfect.
finally a decent looking xbox on the scene for a while tongue.gif nice!!!

EDIT: But where is your power on button huh.gif
ubernewb
eject button has been rewired to be the new power button, and sanded smooth. once smoothed out i painted it and the inner controller ports a dark blue to match the lcd when it was turned off. it's all in the details..

i then cut off the power button and desoldered the switch from the pcb.. as soon as i get another dvd dongle the ir will be relocated right behind that hole.
