not bad GI. i like the skin alot except for i think the jewel is turned. the lines don't flow together (her shoulder, the top she's wearing, the lines of the background) so if the jewel isn't stuck in place, you should try to turn it. or if u can get it off w/o breaking it (i.e. it's glued down, etc.), do that. i had to really look hard to notice it, so it's not that big of a problem. good work tho beerchug.gif
dbdlowrider
ya it is out of line a lil but nice case. the sticker or w/e u whant to call it matchs the case and the lights alot
Dalpura
Well I finally got my front panel plated. You might remember I posted ages ago, I had the top cover painted. Anyway, all done now. It's painted with automotive (Spies Hecker brand) paint from my work (a vehicle repair shop). I'm quite happy with how it's turned out.

GIJoe433 - I like that skin - goes well on that colour case.

Dalpura - Nice paintjob - Good to see some brave new colours. biggrin.gif

Here is my latest update on my xbox.

My jewel has once again been removed and bought back to crystal clear.
( It would have to be about half its original thickness )
I whipped out my trusty glass cutter and cut a small mirrored piece that is now glued to the underside of the cold cathode mounts.

Gives the light a nice cool blue effect - and has brightened it up quite a lot.
Im sure this has been done before but here is my attempt at it anyway.
There is still superglue residue on the lip that the jewel sits on where small portions of light are shining through - I will have to remove the top and sand and paint this lip again. ( Do not use superglue to glue jewels inplace! )

You can even see the reflection of my videocamera in the close up shot smile.gif

- The only problem I am having with my cold cathode is that - It works fine if it is on before I turn on the xbox - But if I switch the xbox on ,and then switch the cold cathode on - the xbox freezes up- Maybee its backfeeding voltage into the hdd?
Might throw a forward biased diode in there and see if that fixes it up.

I was also thinking of fitting a small 12v power supply into the xbox ( Seperate power for lights etc ) Has anyone done this?
Would be quite simple to fit a 12v 1amp switchmode power supply in there somewhere.

Nice, havent seen that before. When I first read your line and briefly glanced at the thumbnail, I thought you had taken off the lid and Brasso'd the platters, I was about to ask if you were a complete moron. biggrin.gif

I was recommended this paint by a friend - turns out that it dries and seals pretty well for a metallic finish.

AManOfLOP33
Ya that window is beautiful man. I don't mean to make you mad cause of all the hard work, but I say do it on the other 2 sides of the X, that would be so sig. But yes, great design and a job well done so far.
Masterkizz
SilverAce - thats nice man real nice!. Dremel masta!

I got the golden gangsta box all together but the top needs a few more coats - Also going to pop in my 120gig maxtor and x2.6 and a few switches -

Here is a teaser pic ( my camera is only 1.2 megapixels sorry ) I will get better pictures when it's all back together and the final coats have been applied.

haha, thats looking pretty gangsterish. you should spray a small design on it or something of a bling bling necklace lol or do something with the jewell which makes it even gangsterish.

looking pretty cool though, anything gangster is cool thogh cool.gif
SilverAce
thx guys, if you knotic the windows connect to the jewl i thoght of it kinda like wires connectiong to the power source, and about the other windows ( i take no offence as long as u say its good) im waaaay to lazy lol and the integrity of my box will = -400 lol because i had 2 hide it so no one broke it before because it was so weak but thx

and have you thought of paintin the black a dif color or maybe a matalic black? and im jw did u sand the case down alot befor u painet, because that gives it a feal fine look and glossy gj =) tongue.gif
Masterkizz
Yes I have sanded the painted sections down - They give off a really nice reflection.

The top could do with a few more coats ( Get it looking really gold and glossy ) - As for the black - I thought of doing it a 2nd colour but I like the way it looks as is.

This is my debug/test box - when I get some cash together I want to buy another one and chop it to bits!
SilverAce
what do u mean lol

Thanks, I used a tripod to get a more steady shot. Anyway, the finish is Krylon Satin, so it gives it a more flat look.
