I used a 60mm pc fan. That xbox is purely for xbmc so a 60mm fan is fine, average temp is 42 degrees celcius on the gpu and 39 on the cpu.
Mine isn't as cool as most of everyone's on here, but I like it!

Saw how cool everyone else's was and had to give it a try.
Did this xbox for a friend who got his stolen. Used texture paint, xmen toys from a local thrift store, and Starbucks coffee grounds. Pretty pleased with it. Paint a matching controller now.

Well It took 2 coats of primer per item, 3 coats of paint and 2-4 coats of light clear coating, a lot of wet sanding and hours of meticulous work over the course of 3 days, and now I'm finally done with it!
. I've been wanting to paint my Xbox for some time now, just to give it that extra pizaz. Its pretty much my first full on project with spray-painting anything, not bad I'd say. I tried removing the Xbox logo/jewel thingy before I started this project to make it clear but the tutorials I was following included PRYING the thing up, and after a good hour of heating, freezing and prying with a screwdriver, I decided not to risk scratching anything.

oh and another thing; i've never had blue boogers before this. kind of a weird thing to experience. Not something you want to see come out of your nose.

Here's one I'm working on. It's gonna be a white/blue case w/ white/blue leds throughout. I did a dvd/hd cutout. But need to sand and paint the case still. Can't decide on the jewel color(white or blue). Sorry for the blurry picture's. I'll take better one's when it's done.

I've even disabled the XBOX status light on playback because I've found it distracting lol

With the white and black Xbox, I have only done external modifications to the case and hardware. The "X" and the DVD bezel have both been spray painted white. I've also trimmed down the HDD case to make room for a 80mm blue LED fan. As far as software, I have let this one untouched and have not done any internal mods yet.
The clear Xbox is my main Xbox. This one has an Xecuter 2 mod chip, green LED under jewel, blue LED stuck on the interior back, a series of rainbow LEDs behind the DVD carrier, a set of purple LEDs behind the HDD carrier, a clear 80mm fan, a clear case, and a 120 GB HDD. Because I'm taking these pics with my MacBook it is somewhat difficult to see what the LEDs really look like.
These are preparation pictures. I've learned through trial and error that proper preparation and equipment make for the most successful projects.
Finally, a side by side picture. I'm very pleased how these two came out.

Here is my new nice and clean media machine. I've purchased one of Trusty's 1ghz 128mb boards so i figured i'd make a slim out of it. I decided not to light it up like crazy and just keep it simple, i did however get an unexpected lighting effect under jewel from the Iceberq.

Thats sick!! Its so simple and cool. There's something enticing about almost-stock electronics like this. Instead of putting your own spin on an official manufactured item, its like you take what they have built and take it to the next level. It doesn't have your name laser etched into it or whatever but it does build on the character and recognition that comes with a big name like XBOX by just improving the already great cosonle with a few subtle details. I like it. Maybe you'd like my XBOX 359 logo to go along with it

Did another last weekend. I wish i would've done a work log but oh well. This was inspired by someone that did a "steampunk" style box but i chose slightly diff colors and did not do a clear LED jewel or any added lights at all. Replaced the front LED ring with dull orange led's. The rest is usual, 1.4 with a DuoX2 running X25035, 250gb wester digi. Was going for the rusted look on the p/e buttons but didnt turn out like i had planned.
Of course doing this box required alittle MOTAvation.

Second try at a bronze hammered finish xbox. I tried a slim this time and i freakin love it. Pictures dont do it justice but still look ok. Finishing up painting the base is the last thing to do then i'll be done.
