My box will not stay on more than 10mins at a time, I checked the gpu fan as it is a 1.0 and it fine, I also ran it with the case off with the thermostat set to 60F but it still freezes after 15 minutes or so, the screen turns white after it freezes and will work for anothet 15 minutes after reset I actually watched 2 movies with xbmp and it works perfectly fine with the exception of having to reset it every 15 mins. sad.gif It's ver. 1.0 modded with a chameleon.

What does the evox temps say?

Autoshut off??? 15mins is kind of short.

Damn I say this all the time....
You are WRONG. It IS an "overheat". That's the only reason your box will shut off after 15 min. THere's no other explanation. Try putting a heatsink on the mcpx chip and doing the 12v fan mod. This should clear you right up.

I thought it was autoshutoff myself . But as I stated earlier the temperature in the room is set at 60f. The cpu temp never goes over 52C fot he cpu and 39 for the mB which seems about average from what I've seen.

The reasons I doubt it Is overhaeating have been stated above but if it were I would't be able to run the box for 4hrs after resetting every 15mins. Furthermore it will also freeze when the cpu is not being taxed i.e. whan idle at the evox screen

EDit: hmm, I can't seem to get teh quote feature to work

my box with a 120gb 7200rpm HDD runs at 67degrees celsius and never freezes.

Scooby your wearing down your internals just to let you know ph34r.gif

It could be the mcpx.
The evox temps don't tell the temp of that chip.
The evox dash does use the cpu quite a bit just sitting there too.
Running the xbox with the case off makes some chips run even hotter too; no airflow.

How does it work with the mod chip turned off?

Looks like we found the culprit with thechameleon disabled i was able to run the box fine for about six hrs.

characho ownz hotline imo
Sottilde
Chameleon overheat??? I dont' know, reflash it or something.

sometimes bad solder joints lose continuity after they get warm. Check that out too. Also when you replied to my post, what you said had nothing to do with what I said. CPU does not equal mcpx. You WOULD be able to run evox for 4 hours after resetting every 15 minutes because it cools down a little when you have to restart it. I know you already found the problem but this HAS to be heat related. Check your points out and that should clear you right up.
