I'd like to add:
1: HDD Activity Light
2: DVD Activity Light
3: Network Activity Light

I've seen tutorials for HDD but not for the other two, any ideas? I have an LE XBOX with a nice green case that I don't want to cut so LED's will be mounted behind the front panel and glow through

And next is my DVD donlge, a black DVD dongle on a green case So I want to follow THIS tutorial only again I want to mount the IR receiver behind the case, no the question is that seeing as the case is semi transparent green will the signal from the remote penetrate the plastic?

I believe IR needs a direct line of sight to work. You will have to mount it somewhere that the remote can "see"

Hmm, i think i'll try to test it with a similar type of plastic held in front of the remote.

DOH, I’m an idiot! The IR signal goes through a piece of black semi transparent plastic to get to the receiver in the first place, lol.

Also, I've tested an IR receiver inside my Green LE case, and it works fine.
