There's a buncha kids behind my house right now poking around cars. I've heard of dozens of vehicles being stolen, but never seen one, so I'm sneaking out there with a digital camera right now...
Figures, living in GTA capital of the world. Well, not real GTA, they don't have guns, heh.
Note to mods: Not bad moving it to the garbage bin, I didn't even notice and now I feel stupid.

Absolutely. Get pics before doing anything else. They are gonna need evidence and that is what is going to convict them.

Call the cops and if they don't want to come, call back a few minutes later and mention how you shot the thieves... that will get them coming in a hurry.

Running out in the dark.. to take pictures of alleged car thieves.. is not my idea of smart.
Most D.Cams.. are piss poor in the dark with flash turned off.. and if turned on.. you're likely to get shot or beat up.
My cousins camero is nice.. on top of the current state of the art security hardware.. he added a cam/transmitter. When someone starts it.. their face and actions are captured at (awful) 5 frames per second. Better than nothing I suppose.

I live in Regina, Saskatchewan and I think were #1 or #2...something like that on the list of worst car thefts...
As for the warning HS, thanks, but trust me all the people that steal cars over here are just moron teenagers, I do worry about my safety, but I am discrete.
Thats why I use a wide-angle lens :s...
