my hd is 14gb but it says i only have 1.3gb left but when i select all the folders and do properties it says in total i have only used 6gb,theres no way ive used 13, any ideas why this is happening?

If you have XP or Me, system restore can take a lot of diskspace...

try refreshing maybe? i dont know.

Also, restart your computer. Windows doesn't register files deleted when checking drive info until the system is rebooted.

^^ good point, empty the recycling bin.

the page file could be set wrong too. betwen thsystem restore fle and that, i still wouldn't take up that much space. you probably have files hidden and when you select all the files, you're not actually getting an accurate representation of the file space being taken up.

yeah all thats obvious i does it every time i boot my computer anyway, hidden files would not take up 7gb. and even when i do view hidden files it makes not difference.

14gb? omg how do you live with that? not to mention liveing with WinME

maybe it's time for a good full scandisk and defrag, or better yet a format.

It could also be yor swap file if you are not viewing hidden files?
