How can cromwell bioses be lagal. They allow you to run linux don't they? Therefore everyone selling chips with the cromwell bios as well as custom variations is breaking the law...Clarification needed...

cromwell cant do anything except for be updated
therefore the chip contains nothing illegal
no1 can prove the chip WILL INDEFINITELY be updated with a hacked bios

Yeah, but that's ALL it does. It's legal because it's a BIOS built from the ground up, unlike every other BIOS, which, at the end of the day, is still an original M$ developed BIOS with a few hacks thrown in it.
Too bad the community hasn't figured out how to make a opensource BIOS that functions like a hacked retail one, but then we'd be getting to the point where stuff for the XBox is fully legal... and we can't have that!

hacked bios could never be legal because it HAS to use m$ code that signs cd-rw's and stuff so that the xbox will accept it
