Ok, i got a v1.1 xbox with a x2.2 pro on a pinheader. When i boot i get cromwell. I saw lookformeb's tutorial, and i pretty much understand it. The only thing that confuses me is the Banks/Sizing part. Now, if i was to flash my x2.2 pro, with 256k bios (just on one bank, maybe flash more banks with different bios later), how would i boot my xbox, with one dipswitch down (the first one), or none of them, or all of them? I think i'll be able to figure it out from there. If all else fails i guess i could do the lpc flash, but the little flat connecter thing (it looks like a stick of gun ), seems a little hard to use.

I know someones gonna bitch at me for "not using the search button", but id rather get a direct answer.

I am pretty sure i know how to do it i just want to clarify. This is how i plan to have my bioses-

4 * 256k bioses:

1. X2 4976 (when you eject it will reset)
2. X2 4977 (wont reset when ejected) [NoReset mod]
3. Evox M7 (when you eject it will reset)
4. Evox M7 (wont reset when ejected) [NoReset mod]

Now, i made the 1mb bios.bin file using X2BM, now, i will burn that to a cd to flash my bios using CROMWELL.


Now, all i need to know is how the DIPSWITCHES should be set when i power it on / flash it


Do all have to be down? One of the 4 says PROTECT

But if i have FOUR 256k BIOS and there are only THREE switches labeled BANK, HOW DO I ACESS THE 4th bios, and what should i have them set to to flash it the FIRST TIME.

Leave all 4 switches OFF to flash, to use the different banks once it's flashed:

For X-ecuter 2.1 and 2.2 Pro
Switch 4 (Sw4) is used to enable/disable the flashprotection.
The separated black switch is to enable disabled your modchip: if it's on the side of the blue/white switches the modchip is disabled, on the other side it's enabled.

So, for instance if you wanted to boot off your EvoX M7 [NoReset] bios then you would have switches 1,2,3 UP (and 4 of course would be UP to ENABLE the modchip). If you wanted to boot with X2 4977, then switch 1,3 would be UP (and 4 again would be UP). It's that easy. A little research and knowledge goes a long way.

actually, the 4th dip should be on because that is the one that enables the mochip... 1, 2 and 3 should be off... just look at the diagram

I thought on the 2.2 Pro the 4th switch was used for Flash Protection and there was a 5th switch off to the side that controlled enable/disable? If you leave the 4th switch in the On position then the flash protection is enabled and you cannot flash! All 4 should be down to my knowledge and the 5th enable/disable mod switch should be on.

yes, you're right...the 4th is flash protection. i was looking for the 2.o pro. but reguardless the 1st 3 should be down with the 4th one up... like the picture shows.



even though it shows a pic of all 4 down being disabled...well, shit... thats kind of confusing. i could very wel be wrong... i dont have a 2.x pro, i'm just going off of the posted info. could someone clarify this?

What you see for the diagram is the 2.0 settings. The 2.1 and 2.2 pro's have 5 dips, not 4 as shown in that photo. That photo was to show how to set on the older chips. With the new pro all 4 switches have to be down (or OFF) and the 5th switch needs to be ON (or facing away from the other four switches since it's on it's side and not up/down like the others). That 4th switch needs to be off or you can't flash since it's protected.
