I'm tired of using ftp to share files with my friends... Is there any good private P2P or tunnelling software that will allow us to share files directly? FTP takes way to long. There must be a better way. I know there are some programs out there, but which works the best/fastest? Any help would be appreciated.
FTP is by FAR the best method of file transfer. If your saying it's taking too long, either you haven't got something setup properly or your connections are crap. P2P is going to be worse.

bit torrent is the best way to share files, but to get the best results, you'll want to post your files publicly - try the "digital update" forums - Torrents are great for speed, because leechers actually help - the more the merrier! Try some torrents yourself, and you'll see what I mean - there is *no* comparison with any other p2p product...

I think the fastest way would be to put them on a cd/dvd and trade with your friends. I hope you're not talking about downloading illegal files. When I trade home movies of holidays and vacations or whatever, I use DC++. Sometimes I can find a friend with a T3 connection and it's really fast.
