Hey guys

Thanks to all the guys who enable us to play these wicked old games.

Just a quick question - is there anyone out there who knows an emulator that will run conkers bad fur day on xbox

Cheers

and many thanks

I would cry with excitement if you know of any

The new N64 emulator that is coming out 'SOON' (cough!) should run it, if what they say about it is anything to go by!
Mr.Big
the upcoming conkers game for xbox will contain the entire n64 conkers bad fur day

Yes, but also keep in mind there are known graphical issues with conkers bad fur day with Rice's 5.1.0 plugin.

His new plugin (5.20) and 1964 .99 should be out soon (a month or less?) and from the screenshots it appears he has fixed conkers aswell as alot of other known issues.

While the emu in its current state is a huge improvment and kicks some ass, the N64 emulation future is looking very nice at this point with Rice and 1964.

yes conkers bad fur day is really really great . maybe one of the best games ever made.
i tested conkers bad fur day with my 128mb xbox and it really loads with pj64 but its very slow and a lot of graphics
mistakes.

i hope the new emulator will come soon can'T wait anylonger sad.gif

i miss the time 9 years ago when everything starts, and emulation becomes better and better. i remember zsnes0.6 and one of the first snes9x releases. this time was a good time. everyday updates, ultrahle and corn later pj64 and many more ( i know them all, because i was from the beginning there to read all this stuff. and now im a developer myself) i don'T like how people think about emulation today. most of them have lack of understanding what it means to develope such programms. i hate all these people who just want to collect roms to play with them and make money with them. because of these brainless people, many developers quit their emulations like ultrahle maybe nemu and perhaps many more. this is just my opinion. so nevermind about that.

at least "xbox is great"

respect to all authors, developers, moderators, to all people who made this all possible.

thank you very much

Dude. I don't mean to be a drag, but I've seen that game packed into dicount bins for years now. You can get an N64, an expansion, and the game for the price of a marked down Xbox games.
I dug it when it came out, but I dunno. The appeal lost itself when I'd beaten it.

its something about playing it on xbox that seems special, i have a real WWF No Mercy (N64) right next to me and an n64, but i still can't wait to play it on xbox. same goes for many NES and SNES games such as street fighter2, contra, and super metroid that i play all the time on my xbox. can't wait for that new n64 emu because its going to be awesome smile.gif

Lets hope so!!! Hopefully we'll get it before xmas! But it would make quite a nice present if released of xmas day! gift.gif
nancy_kerrigan
Gee i hope its not ad far away as Christmas.

Main games I wanna play (stable without errors) are Starfox, Zelda 1 & 2 (and master quest) and smash brothers.

Keep up the good work guys!
Iriez
Your wish shall come true.

( And well before christmas =p )
simbot82
Iriez you big tease smile.gif. Well I'm going to appreciate this thing when it comes out. It never fails to amaze me the effort and skills of the programmers involved to make my xbox pretend to be a arcade machine/nes/amiga/snes/genesis/sms/n64/gameboy/GBA.

Nothing but appreciation here. Bring it on.
Ces2k3
see i wish most thread were as positive as this, it shows that the devlopers/porters are well loved here at the scene
Bender_Unit_1
Before christmas? YAY!

This is good news. It's nice to know this is being worked on so most major bugs will be cleaned up. That way we won't have an updated version being released every other day, but a great release right away. Thanks for all the hard work.
Gillian_Seed
Thanks for the update Iriez. Thanks for the hard work, oDD and unknown developers. Keep it up, you're much appreciated here.

Bear with me as this is probably a damn stupid question...

As I understand it, this all-singing, all-dancing new N64 emulator will be using the core of at least two different emulators and using various different graphics plugins to give the best results in one package.

My question is how much work then needs to go into porting a *new* plugin if/when it is made available? Would it be a coupla weeks after the source to it is released or a coupla months?

Pretty lame question but it'll give us slathering N64 fans some idea of when we can expect future updates *after* this version is released!

As always, extreme respect to oDD and the mystery coder who're behind this emulator.
themadman123
Yeah, Thanks for working so hard on such an awesome emulator guys! Keep up the most excellent work!!!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
Dante_Ali
1964 0.9.9 will be a godsend for Xbox N64 emulation in general. Judging from the beta testers' feedback on the Emutalk forums it's supposedly ultra fast even on low-end computers such as a Celeron 500 (apparently the thing is as fast as Corn was back in the day ) and the new Rice plugin is making awesome development.

http://www.emutalk.net/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=2 Check out the threads relating to the new beta.

Yes, multiple emulators, but a single video plugin. When it comes to open source, Rice's plugin is simply the best...and really the only decent plugin out there.

New plugin? That really depends on the developers free time. It could take a week (porting over, and beta testing) if they have *all* free time that week.

Rices 5.1.0 plugin was ready for pj64-x like days...perhaps 1 week after v.70 i believe. (Or am i mistaken? I believe it came out *right* as v70 was released). But due to circumstances the release was delayed. Its much better to wait and recieve much higher quality (from both a developers point of view and consumer) because usually when you release things early people just bitch.

But to answer more generally, it should only be a matter of weeks before the new plugin is updated into the <insert secret name here> N64 xbox emulator.

To be honest, the release is really close. Right now its solely dependant upon the developers free time. Its hard to come by. I've been helping as much as i can to get this out as soon as possible (beta testing and various things)

Side note: I find it funny how people mention multiple video plugins...but what about audio? wink.gif
cninja
it all sounds good Iriez;

but what about audio?
huh.gif

anyways, I think this emulator is going to rule beerchug.gif
simbot82
That is kind of ironic, as way back when we had video, but no audio smile.gif
tom_g05
Yeah very Ironic, anyways so Iriez what audio plug in is it using?
Keito-Kun
The reason that most people are whining about the video plugin is because they want to play the games, and take audio as given.

Thanks for the update Iriez and keep up the good work. This Bud's on me beerchug.gif

This emu sounds great Iriez. i wish alot of other emus had multiple cores. it sounds like a great idea. But ive got a question. Have you tested performance on goldeneye 007 does it run glitchy or slow like in the other emus? how about 64mb games have any of them had any progress on this emu? Anyways enough of my babeling Thanks for all your hard work keep it up.

Thats not the point......Its the fact that you can play it on your xbox........which is 50 times cooler than playing it on your n64.........

Scene1:
Person1: Dude wanna play CBFD?
Person2:Ok
Person1: I'll get out my N64
Person2: Dude you are gay

Notice you can enter any n64 game in place of CBFD......
But anyways you will be able to play an upgraded CBFD with bigger/longer/uncut(or whatever the title is) making all of this pointless blink.gif

I'm wondering the same thing. If ooD and the mystery coder fixed the annoying problems ultrhle had with goldeneye (overly-sensitive aiming, random crashes in multiplayer, and losing all your progress when you go back to the main menu) then this emu well blow everything else outta the water for me, as it's my favourite game of all time. If vm is working as good as it seems to be, then the 64mb roms should work great.

I think the developers/porters/coders of these fine emulators are doing a dam fine job, just think a couple of years ago who would have thought it possible…keep up the good work guys.

Thanks

Someone had a post mentioning virtual memory can anyone confirm that this emu does have virtual memory. And if the coders do read this has there been progress with Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. it plays on pj64-x but has big pauses and graphic issues. A big thanks to the hard working coders.

ACk, as much as I want this new n64 emu, I will honestly miss the fun of checking the scene 3 times (or more tongue.gif) a day to see if it has been released yet...... so yeah as much as I want this emu, take your time, as it is keeping me occupied!
chane2k1
im not entirely sure but is the coders name ODD and i heard that there are others staying anonymous. if so im just thanking you somemore. keep up the good work guys and or girls. oh and im asking this question again because someone didnt realy give me an answer. someone mentioned in an earlyer post that this new emu used virtual memory to load bigger games does anyone have an answer to confirm this? thanks again coders.
Iriez
As i have said multiple times, yes, it uses VMM.

Not sure about eps 1. I remember with Rice's 5.0.0 it was well playable. I would imagine his 5.1.0 is a improvement (which is what they will be using for the new version).
NCNikka
Yes, many thanks for the work you guys do. I can't tell you how much I appreciate what I can do with my Xbox now.
