When I press both thumbsticks down, the cheat menu comes up but the screen is flashing so bad I can barely read anything. It is legible to some extent but is this normal for this trainer?

oh, what does the cheat, "Cheat controller" do as well?

Yes, that is normal.
BTW: What is does these cheats do?
Fall Guy? - You wont die when you fall from a high place.
Medusa? - When an enemy looks at you, they die.
Bump Character? - Run into an enemy (bump into them) and you'll become them.
As for "Cheat Controller" i dont think anyone knows...
