I got busted doin 23 MPH over the speed limit on an expressway in North Carolina. I was wondering if anyone knows the maximum fine is for that. They gave me a court date instead of a ticket so im just chillin wait for like 5 weeks, wanna know if i should start saving now.

There's nowhere on the ticket where you can just plead guilty and send it in?

Can't plead guilty yet they got me set up with a court date. Kinda sucks ass cause i was gonna take leave right when then wan't my ass there. It was on the expressway from Jacksonville to Morehead... the 24 i think. The worst part is i was real polite with the cop if i knew it wasn't gonna get me anywhere i would have told him to fuck off at the get go!

Never, never, NEVER give a cop lip. He'll glady trump up the charges if you piss him off. You'd be surprised.

*edit*
Besides dude, you were going 20+miles over the speed limit. You could have sucked his dick in the back of the cruiser and he would have still given you a ticket.

If you can, go see someone (county clerk, judge, etc.) about the ticket now. You could possibly get it thrown out or atleast not have to pay court cost, which is usually $80-100+.
