I have a sony XBR450 which can suppourt 1080i and I have my xbox connected to it with the component input. I have XBMP on my xbox right now I was looking at putting XBMC on it. I saw a patch some where for 1080i for the XBMC and I was wondering how I can get the XBOX to output in 1080i if it was even possible. Right now it outputs in 480p.

Finally it works.
Manually switch to it.
I'm using the lower one (720p) because of calibration and skin problems.
The skin I'm using is xbmx_stylin
The version you want to use is:
Xbox Media Player (XBMP) Xbins CVS 2003-10-29
Finally.........
It is cool

Are you able to output video files (divx specifically) in 1080i?

I downloaded the 10-26 CVS build. When I put the resloution to 1920x1220, I think thats what it is, after I restart the xbox and go in to XBMC its only displayed in the upper left hand corner. Its like just the upper 1/4 of the screen. Any other reslouting works fine.

same with xbmp. only displays in top left corner, not centered.
I have no 1080i games nor do I have a HD Tv signal. This is the only way I have got my X1 projector to display a 1080i mode. My 32" TV is HD ready and should support 1080i but the screen is all garbled when I try this same config.
Is this an issue with xbmp or my TV ?

Folks, for XBMC:
You need to have the HDTV modes that your TV supports enabled in the MS Dash.
You then need to boot XBMC, and change it's resolution to whichever HDTV mode you are wanting. This will change the resolution that the GUI is shown in. You'll need to reboot for it to take effect. Once it's rebooted, it should load up and you'll see that the GUI is in the top left only. This is due to the fact that all skins in XBMC are for 1 resolution only - the default one is set up for PAL. This is for quality reasons. You need to get hold of an HDTV skin if you want to take advantage of the extra screen realestate you have available. I suggest you pop over to the XBMC forums as there has been a tool posted there for scaling the standard skin to get other resolutions.
Assuming you can handle all that, you're probably qualified to test out the quality (or otherwise) of movie playback from HDTV modes. If so, please post a note over in the "Choose Best Resolution" topic on the XBMC forums - your help is needed in order to optimize this routine as much as possible. Without your help, things will not be improved, as most developers (if not all) do not have HDTV sets.

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the resized skin and it works. It looks pretty cool. I will look in to movie playback from HDTV modes. Im new with XBMC, so Im not sure what that is but Ill see what I can do.
are there any alt skins posted anywhere for 1080i? ... Besides rescaling the original skin?
