Is there a way to play 2 player games such as pac man and donkey kong and not have to pass the player 1 controller back and forth? I have the controls set up in options but it doesn't seem to work, we still have to pass the player one controller back and forth. Am I missing something or is this just not possible cause the original games used only one set of controls? uhh.gif

What controls do you have setup? While I haven't tried it, you can configure several buttons for a single input in the game. When you're at the configure-this-game screen, choose to change a button, and press the button you wish to use it on one controller, and then the other. Do this for each button you need in the game, and in theory, it should work.

That is what I thought also. For example in Pac-Man I have player one controls set to directions on controller one D pad, and player 2 controls set to controller 2 Dpad. But we still have to pass the player 1 controller back and forth to play 2 player. uhh.gif

Those kind of games use the PORT1 controls for both players, so unless you can set both pads to control PORT1, NOT port1 and port2, you will have to keep passing the pad back and forth, like you did with the originals.

jester.gif I kinda thought it was something like that. Bummer. Oh well thanks for the input. Maybe they could make a change in the mameox programing to make it work so you don't have to pass the controler back and forth. Heck I guess anything is possible nowadays. LOL.. Take it easy jester.gif

I have a feeling you'd have to change the actual ROM- remember, the emulator is going only as far as replicating the gameplay to as close to perfection as possible. I'm not sure that there would be some way to detect the switching of players so the emulator could swap the ports 'on the fly'.
