or even to rip off the laser lens. because my xbox wont read any of my games. it is a normal xbox(no mods) i tried cleaning it and everything, took it out, cleaned all the dust out. but it still doesnt work. so i was wonerdering if i could replace it with another cd/dvd rom drive?

If your expertise in posting in the proper forum is a reflection of your expertise with hardware, then you might wanna have someone else do it.

Yes, you can purchase a different XBox DVDROM off of eBay for example and put it in your Xbox to use it. Or, mod a certain PC DVDROM and put it in your Xbox. Check the tuts for more instructions.

Or, you can also do a PC DVDROM mod with your original Xbox DVDROM
