I'm still @ work, so I haven't gotten the newest CVS yet, but I've read that it has "limited Tivo support." I'm assuming that this means it's able to play, at some level, the proprietary .ty format that Tivo uses. However, are they actually talking about Tivo-like functions such as vieo capture via a USB capture device? Anybody know?

I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO thinking the same thing. I'm guessing playback, but capture would be awesome (but a bit unrealistic, no?).

The TiVo support will allow you to stream via a special Linux version of ccxstream shows recorded on your TiVo or .ty and .tmf files you've archived. I would like to see a way to completely control TiVos via XBMP....

Is there any documenation available that you could point us to re the ccxstream component?
Thanks

I guess that's cool, but since it's already so easy to convert .ty files to standard mpegs, I'm not too excited about this feature. However, any development on XBMP (let alone the fact that it exists at all) is awesome

On a somewhat related side-note, I'd suggest hacking the Tivo to anyone who owns one. Makes a kick-ass piece of hardware even better, especially being able to control it via the web and making DVDs and Divxs from what you've recorded.

I have been using this feature quite a bit (just bought another x-box for the bedroom to stream the Tivo content to)... BUT... From what i can tell, only the 6-9-03 CVS build of XBMP supported the tivo playback. i ahve not had success with any other version.

Didn't even think about streaming it to another room. Now this is starting to sound a bit better. Does it display what's in the Now Playing on Tivo, or do you have to pull the .ty files off and stream it thru Relax or something?

Whoo Whoo
You mean to tell me I can stream the files I have on my Tivo to XBMP.
What exactly do I have to do. I have alot of shows that I'd want to watch downstairs. This is something I really need a response for.
