I'm wondering if theres anyway to rename the files of games once they're on the hd. For example, if I wanted "WWE RAW2" to become "WWE Raw 2", is there anyway via FTP to change the name? Or any other way for that matter?

Check the tools section (I believe). There are a few XBE renaming tools there.

I got XBE_Renamer0.8 but I don't know how to use it. I got the .XBE file off the game, but once it comes up in the list, what do you do from there?

The readme file doesn't tell anything

Easiest way for me is to use the filemanager in Avalaunch Dash. Really easy to use.

To use XBERenamer, just ftp the xbe file of the game you want to change the name of to the same directory as where you have XBERenamer stored on your PC. Then run the program. You then have to load the xbe. From there, you can change the name to whatever you want, then click the lower right button (Process? I can't remember offhand). Then refresh your ftp list and ftp the renamed file back to the xbox directory. suggest you rename the original xbe file as something else and keep it just in case before ftping the new file over. That's it. Repeat for other files you want to rename.

open xbe renamer, in options set up all your xbox FTP setting (IP, login, password) then hit scan ftp, and select the filder with your xbe in it (or just select your entire games folder) it will bring up all the names and you can edit them, then click process and they will al be changed on your xbox

wow, i still can't get it to work. I really think there is something wrong with it. The button "Process" is always "greyed out." You can't click it anotherwords. I FTPed the .XBE file to my XBE_Renamer0.8 directory like someone said to. And then I opened that up under XBE_Renamer, and it's just visible there in the list. You can't double click it, nothing happens....

Any ideas?

click on the name all the way on the left, it will get highlighted and you can type a new name, then after renaming you cna process (dont feel bad, it took me a while to figure it out too, lol)

you shoudl try using the programs own ftp instead of moving the xbe to your hard drive, its 10x easier

Figured it out, you cannot have it in "List style". You have to switch it to an icon

Thanks to all!

Glad to know you got it. This is a great program. I'm a stickler for naming as well. I especially hate how it lists "WWE Raw" as "RAW" and "Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance" as "MGS2S".
lordvader129
yep, i hate that too, harry potter and chamber of secrets doesnt even have a name in the xbe, lol

Where is this XBrenamer software? I cant seem to find the right sub menu in the tools section. I have a couple emulators that have some real confusing names, I wanted to rename them to corispond to what kind of emulator they are.

I use xToolBox to move files from xbox's in my house. When you highlight an .xbe and puch white you can rename the game. Then in evo-x (or the like) its whatever you made it.

Great, I found it. All my emulators are all nicely labeled now. Thanks for the help.
