I bought a modchip for my PSone a while ago. I converted it into a portable unit (battery, LCD, & wireless controllers) I have a model schp-101 and the chip that I purchased was a 12c508/p. The only schematics that I found were for the newer version of the schp-101, I must have an older version. Well, I finally found a layout of my version and everything seems to correspond correctly but the modchip is not working. I have resoldered the chip in 3 times. It boots up and plays original discs fine, but no copies. Anyone have an Idea? Thanks -betacrash

I am using images from alt.binaries.playstation. And I burn them with Alcohol 120%. I do have a couple of games that I made copies of and they played ok on a PC emulator. Could it be that the PSone is so picky that I need to use a certain type of media (ie Verbatim) Any help would be appreciated. -Betacrash

You mightnt have the right version chip for your psx you should have checked before you purchased.

I did check. And the 12c508/p chip should work on both scph-101 and 102. Maybe I just have a dud chip. Oh well. -betacrash
