hi there

I was surfing the internet the other day and came across one of these dual fan hard drive cooler.
you just screw it under the hard drive

picture

the thickness is about 15mm to 17mm depending in the manifacture than produces it.

I was thinking to maybe cutting the buttom of the hd tray and have this in the xbox

hot air out of the hd, and bonus when it cools down...air blowing to partiel heatsink of the cpu and the power supply. biggrin.gif

MY REAL QUESTION is do U think it will fit, maybe it would touch the power supply and make it spark blink.gif

what do U guys think

that mofo looks alitttle too big
but im not saying it cant be done
just not without a litle cutting biggrin.gif

just get 2 4omm fans and stick them over the holes on the underside of the hdd tray and itll do near enough as good a job if not better and there dead simple to fit
kiwicolor
but those 40mm fans are so small, and size is like 40×40×10mm

thickness 10mm will a extra 5 to 7mm hurt

ain't bigger better tongue.gif

bigs not always better... big fans tend to run slower so they make less noise and you can get some good 40mm fans that push alot of air

id say that it would fit and work well, just got to modify the hdd housing case a lil.
kiwicolor
hopefully it will cause I just ordered one 30 mins ago, but I found one that it only 11mm thick, but one big 60mm instead of dual fan cool.gif even thinner biggrin.gif

I'll probably get it on wednesday or thursday. I'll keep you guys updateds on this when I'll have it in my possesion.

let's hope it all works as planned

might not fit may have to customize the case just a little bit
kiwicolor
since the one that I ordered is just 11mm, I figured that by cutting the bottom of the hd tray, I'll save about 2 to 3mm,

I'll just need another 8 to 9 mm, I think it will have enought space.... but still waiting till it arrives....bought it on ebay

for the one that are curious about the fan that i'm gonna receive wink.gif

did it fit ?
any luck adding the fan under your HD?
kiwicolor
ohh ya,

it did fit, but I had to cut the hole bottom of the hd tray.

and even installed a 7-12v swith.

it works great, now my hdd is always under 21-22C beerchug.gif

I do not suggest using the one with 2 fans, cause it will probably not fit,

unless you push the hard drive higher than it regular positon
