Hi,
Im having problems trying to get my emulator to work. I've put all 3 bios's (that I know of) in the bios folder. (scph1001, scph1000, & scph7502) I've put the original game (parappa the rappa) in my computer, made an iso and ftp'd it back to the folder for psxcds. I select the game and it just stays on the loading screan playing that church music. I've read stuff here and there and still connot figure this out. I've gotten every other emulator to work so far except this one.

Thanks in advance..

Opps forgot to say what emu I was running. Its psx 10

I tried the other day to make my first image also, using FF9. I know u need to PPF patch some games, so I found one for this (dammit, it had a trainer etc...I don't want all that crap. Couldn't find just a standard ppf for the PAL version).
Also, check the pinned thread, there are HEAPS of options in PCSX that u might need to turn on/off for different games...
I made clone cd (ccd) images using alcohol with the Playstation setting. I got it to load, but it crashes on the Squaresoft screen with repeating music....I'm guessing the patch is the problem...
I only have 1 bios present.

u only need 1 bios cuz they are just diff revisions of the console
not like an old psx can't play the newer psx games
only bios that may differ are diff regions, not even sure if they work
cdrwin is the best for psx games imo
it's never ever failed me

Okay,
another dumb question. How do I make it a bin file? I've been searching all over and cannot find a way. I've read the psx info file and nothing really (or from what I've seen) I've looked on mirc for untilities and nothing. Can someone give me a file name to use to create a bin file? I've gome so far as to just renameing the file to a bin.

Thanks in advance!

Try WinISO. It can convert iso -> bin/cue and back. I'm trying to deal with the PPF patches now....
Can I use say a US NTSC patch on UK PAL? I would guess not, at least not without it causing problems....will the patcher tell me this, or just patch regardless?
Also, what do you do if you can't find the patch you want? I don't want added trainers etc.

Right u need a PPF patch for FF9 (i doubt it is the problem) use the trainer/PPF patch(Hooligins right?) u got and just don't turn the trainers on when u start the game. Turn CPU Interpereter on to stop it crashing at the start and turn the Ino..............Battle fix on for the best performance. I also turn frameskip off.
Unfortunately the game freezes in some videos and you have to play on epsxe to get past some parts.
Hopr this helped!!!

Cheers JC 2K3, although I played around wiht it some more before I noticed your post, and got it giong what appears to be ok. It did have 2 random in game (non FMV) crashes, so maybe one or two options are a little different. I did search and found your older posts and have a list of options to try. I'll try your ones listed above also.
It still crashes on the square logo, but I figured out that if you press A you can skip this (I'm guessing it's crashing on the opening FMV) and get to the main menu. Then I read this same solution here.
That's sweet about the trainers being off. I didn't notice anything about how to turn them on/off in the nfo file, so I assumed they were always on.
And yeah, I'm using Hooligan's patch.

Thanks a bunch JC,
That was my only problem. Parappa the rappa is pretty tough to play though with it not responding quickly and the arrow moving too fast, but others work great!!

Thanks again!
