Except in this case, you'd be dealing with the MPAA, RIAA, MS, Sony, and Nintendo in addition to Federal agencies. Scary.

Don't, and I repeat DON'T buy from that web site. At the very best, it is a scam, and you will be parted from your money. (Okay, there's always the small chance that you'll actually get the games, but...) More likely, when that idiot is busted and shut down, the Feds will have your address and email. If you're really, really lucky, the web site will actually turn out to be a honeypot run by the FBI, and you'll have Agents Flintstone and Rubble at your doorstep sometime next month.

Now are those illegal games really worth that risk? $50 doesn't look so bad after all...

HOW ABOUT NOT. mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

Ok that last one looks like they are at least trying not trying to scam you, with charging 8 dollars you probably get a DVD-R and have it labeled, and shipped priority mail. So for 40 dollars you get 5 games and 6 months in jail when they come to get you. I think I could make more money getting those Pre-K kids to sell beer, and you wouldn't go to jail for it more than likely.

Just do what the rest of us do here, only backup the games you own.

Acutally, I doubt at all that ANYONE will come knocking on your door. Read the copyright law using this link and you will see what I mean

http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/17/117.html

It allows the owner of a copy of a computer program to make OR AUTHORIZE the making of another copy if it is for archival purposes. Of course I'm not a lawyer and don't want to be one AND there are additional stipulations on SELLING those copies, but all this talk about buying a few backups and getting arrested is a bunch of BS.

BTW...can someone send me a small file and shovel c/o Jackson State Pen??? laugh.gif

Good pointer... I like this quote from it...

QUOTE
TITLE 17 CHAPTER 1 SEC. 117 (cool.gif Lease, Sale, or Other Transfer of Additional Copy or Adaptation. -

Any exact copies prepared in accordance with the provisions of this section may be leased, sold, or otherwise transferred, along with the copy from which such copies were prepared, only as part of the lease, sale, or other transfer of all rights in the program. Adaptations so prepared may be transferred only with the authorization of the copyright owner.

Here is the zinger... "Adaptations so prepared may be transferred only with the authorization of the copyright owner. ."

Too bad MS, and the other developers don't give us Authorization... smile.gif

Damn their two talking methods.
