Did anyone else get disconnected and now cant connect? when i try it just says connecting then dissconnecting........and thats it?

yeah, i would have more than all of you combined if i didnt only have a 10gb hdd for 3 years, and now only a 20gb hdd, i have to delete EVERYTHING after i burn it or transfer it to my xbox's hdd, my xbox hdd has 70gb filled up already, thats why i think directly from xbox to xbox would be awesome.

If we could do xbox to xbox, we could make a hub like xbconnect.

Would make transfering games easy.

Bagel, I leave my system online 24/7 and it tends not to crash, It is an Athlon XP 1800+ with 256 DDR-RAM, working on Win2k. Maybe I should host the hub, what do you think about that?

Direct Connect is the real deal when using p2p. Ftp on the other hand beats the crap out of all p2p -progs but I'm quite sure everyone here allready knows that.

Direct Connect cannot be compared to FTP in any way. Speed may be better, but what counts here is the ease of use and how people can check and download each other's files without having to worry about dynamic IP issues, etc...

I can connect to the hub but when i right click and choose browse user's files...nothing comes up...whats wrong?

I like the idea of p2p. I think it is easier to get into and use than ftp etc. I have managed to backup my games (didn't take long - Cheers for the brilliant tutorials) but I've not looked into IRC yet. Up until now my focus has been on finding movies and IMesh is ideal for that. I've had a quick look at your DC option and it is looking good. I'll need to do a bit more reading. Keep it up!

why do so many people share apps and mp3's and no xbox games, can't we just have a 100% xbox hub. The hub was good about a week ago when it first started, but it's slowly getting harder to get anything, cuase people come on, use slots and don[t share xbox games. The queues are going up but the number of xbox games isn't.

I've never used direct connect before this, It looks like a good way to go if we can just get rid of all the mp3's & apps, and just stick to xbox stuff.

Aren't the ppl you are connecting to have folders setup? I'd personally want to avoid changing my shares everytime I hit a new Hub, so as long as ppl have a decent folder scheme setup, you should be kosher. Afterall, the more birds you can hit w/ one stone, the easier things can be

we all should help the economy a little bit. at least RENT the game and then copy. who's so poor that they can spend hundred's of dollars to mod the xbox and can't afford $5 for a rental...

If you cannot get dc to work, try this: 1) If you have a router, forward the port to 412 in tcp and udp 2) Go to settings then connection then try active mode and put your ip as a forced ip bellow it, if that fails use pasv mode, but still w/ da forced ip 3) If you have a software firewall, you may want to disable it, if that helps

i dont have a router and ive tried forcing my ip but still i get the same message?????
also my port settings where set at port 412 by default...

I rent as may games as I can, but eing in Australia there is a lot of games we don't get like bmx xxx and alot of games that we get months after there release in the US. I've already finished tony hawk 4 and it ain't come out here until the end of the month

Renting how i got pretty much all my gamesevery week i got like ones or twice to rent new s#@t. But i'm not saring ot much at the moment cuz my hd kinda small but soon i'm guna get a nice big one and put all my games on it. So if ya see i only got one game up on it (shenmue 2 - which i had to mod cuz it was orig to big.. all i did was change the frequency of some of the music files...but it woorks perfect) please don't get to pissed at me. i'll have the rest up in littrle while. later.. peace out

I wish you guys would give up direct connect and try Freenet. With Freenet the more people that download the file the easier it is to get, so there is no waiting in ques ect. Plus, as Ive said before anyone (person, company, government) can know what you are shareing with Direct Connect. Freenet protects your anonymity!

At least here in the US, I wonder if the Patriot Act overrides some of these protections.

I would like to use Freenet and Frost, but, quite frankly, I don't have space to burn to be used as a node.

Once I hear the reports of arrests of individual users for swapping, then I may reconsider this stance.
