Mismatched mobo and HDD install

Guys,
I have blown up my Xbox and am in the process of salvaging parts. (please dont ask me for parts)
I plan on taking my 80GB HDD from my old Xbox and installing it in my newly modded box.

I've read somwhere that they need to have the same passwords or they wont wrok properly. I can't find this information anymore can anyone help me out?

If your 80GB HDD is unlocked, you can just plug it into your new modded Xbox.

If it is locked, you will need to unlock it. Hope you have a copy of your old EEPROM and/or HDD Key.

Then you can either leave it unlocked in your new Xbox (if you don't need to boot the MS BIOS), or lock it to the new Xbox (which is the "password" you had mentioned)

Sweet, my 80GB HDD is unlocked so I shouldnt have any problems.
