Hi folks...me again.

So I've got everything running nice and smoothly...evox3921/xecutor2 v4979.
I got ftp to work just fine -- really fast download/upload speeds.

I created a e:games folder and placed an xiso of a game in it. I was expecting to be able to see the game on the launch menu of the evox screen.

How can I utilize the launch menu, or how can i play my legitimate backups?!

thanks
phyzfer

PS. I'm assuming that all the normal xbox apps will run the same way as the games....

Hi there,

Firstly you need to check your evox.ini file, the menu structure is in the INI file.

Once you ftp the evox.ini file to your computer you can edit it and ftp it back ( make a backup of th INI file before you start editing it ).
There are many tuts you can read on this forum about editing the Evox.ini file ( Its easy to do even without reading the tuts.. ).

To run "legitimate backups wink.gif " use a program called HDDLoader.
It does everything for you copies the files to an XBox folder that it creates and the patches the xbe file. If that program dosnt work you need to copy manually to a folder in the XBox and patch the xbe file manually with a program called Craxtion.

Hope that helps.. biggrin.gif

Hi again,

If you want to do it manually....

1. FTP the Game to Computer.
2. Patch XBE file with latest version of Craxtion.
3. FTP back to a new folder on the XBox.
4. Edit menu to look at the new XBE.

Done.. ( Its worked on every game i have tried...including Matrix )

I have a question...

Soo...i need to upload the WHOLE game folder to the xbox instead of just the .ISO file?? and then tell the evox.ini file where to get the .xbe file of the game in the menu section right?? that seems pretty straight forward -- although I was expecting to just upload the .iso file into a directory and have evox pick it up and let me playyyy...

i guess not....

I'll keep my eyes open for this program that you talk about...craxtion? can you explain what you meant by patching the .xbe file with this??

thanks,

Hi again,

You only need to make an ISO of the App or Game if your burning to CD-RW or DVD media.
To use a App or Game from the XBox HD you just FTP.

To Patch an XBE, all you do is load the XBE into Craxtion and click on "Patch" ( I think the button it called Patch, anyway its a one step process.)

To put a backup a game onto DVD media, you need to patch the file and then make the ISO image. (Craxtion will also make ISO files too)

To find Craxtion, just search on google.

Hope that helps... cool.gif

YES! that definitely helps...

since i'll be storing the images on my pc as well as the xbox (until i get a larger hd for the box), I dont think I'll need craxtion -- don't intend to do any more burning...way too many coasters lying around...and definitely not planning on ruining DVDs (plus i dont even have a DVD burner :-().

Also do you reccomend a certain type of hd...i know this is not the best place to post...but since you've been sooo much help already -- thought id ask.

definitely appreciate everything

hey dude you are giving him wrong answer.

1. don't patch the game because the new bios not it does it automatically, if you patch the game you will have problem playing it.

2. The game you must not turn it in iso format. Just copy it to your HDD if you have it a folder already just copy it if not make a folder and copy all the files on it and reboot your xbox and go into games and now you should able to see it in the directory

3 The best HDD that works well with xbox is Maxtor because they are lockable.
