Basically i have evox running and was ripping Halo to my 80gb hd and it seems to take long? Is it better to rip anbother way or is this way fine, better to use ect?????

I dont have a hub but i have a switch. Could i hook up directly from pc to box without switch?

Get back to me on both questions.
kkattfish
use xbcopy it is the best way to rip games to your hd.
FFactoryxx
why is that the easiest? I mean is one way better than the other? Can errors occur in eother one???

Actually Halo took about 5min to rip so i guess im happy
ZWinFlame
I won't go into it as this has been discussed many times.
period.

BOXPLORER has the best control and is direct transfer.
FixTr
I'm using boxPlorer too and just love it !
cyrusuncc
i like boxplorer better then xbcopy.. but xbcopy IS easier.. very simple and very few options. It auto puts games into its own dir though.

Linoxx
Well, what about when it says 'error couldnt rip this file'? That was the problem I had with mech assault.

BOXPLORER is ok....but it doesn't have the same level of error checking as XBCOPY.

by using boxplorer, i copied halo in under 15 minutes
SirLuck
To use boxplorer, you must connect your pc to the xbox and ftp in. This is NOT easier for most of us.
phantazma1
what do you mean ftp is hard to do? blink.gif everyone should AT LEAST be
able to do that. if you can't ftp into your xbox, then don't even
attempt to open it cuz you might break something.

Some people have reported problems with boXplorer, especially troubling is the free space problem where you delete something and it does not free up the space

I do not know what checks Xboxcopy does, it is simple and you can easily rename the folders after, but it automaticly copies everything, I like to have more control than this, some games have demo folders, and BIG buffer files, that I do not want, and would rather not copy in the first place instead of deleting them after (less fragmentation)

I have been using Xcommander, so far it has worked flawlessly for me

Ok, I was wondering if XBoxCopy copied EVERYTHING... if so then I'll continue using Boxplorer. No problems at all. And I get to pick and choose what I want to copy. Another question, what's this HDD lock thing? I installed a 120G fine, again what's this lock thing about? Should I lock it? No? I'm confused...

WTF are you talking about???? boXplorer is a stand alone program, you do NOT have to ftp in!

there is no need to lock it, unless you want to run original bios(necessary for live), original bios will not recognize the drive unless it is locked, it will say your xbox needs servicing

Try this program "Px HDD Loader" here is a little peace from the info file

While playing XBOX games from your XBOX hard drive is not a new
idea ... it has just become easy for the average user! We present
to you our first application released for XBOX. This program will
read any XBOX game disc you have to your XBOX hard drive, and it
will display all the games you've installed and you can choose to
Play, Delete or Install more!!

Features:

* Real time progress displayed on current file being copied, as
well as the overall progress, even says the file name being copied.
Constantly updates the amount of Free Space on your HDD while it
copies.

* Checks the disc size before installing to let you know how big
the game is, and if its too big, it will ask you to delete something.

* Support for Partition1 & Partition6 for users with larger HDD's.

* Auto patches games that are being installed for known protections.

* Lets you know if your modchip doesnt allow the eject trick

Here goes a little pic also
