I made absolutely sure I installed it right and did the whole lighter fluid cleaning step. Connected to PC : I have XP Professional so I did 2 compatablity assignments to run DMS on Windows 98 and also, tried 2000 . I used bank 4 for the flash with M7. I get the same thing everyone else does. GREEN , GREEN, RED =FRAG. Im at my wits end with this POS . I know I am almost there . Am I missing anything???Also, I have tried bank 6 as well ... tried E2.5 and M7 and both banks. Stealth mode works ...
XBOX 1.0
X-Bit
M7
And have slayers ready if I can ever get to that step.
Any advice at this point will keep me sane and keep this POS chip safe from me making it X BITs and pieces.

Hiya Mate,
I know it can be frustrating when the damn thing dont work, it took me nearly six hours in one sitting to get mine to work.
How about this, instead of playing with the dipswitches all the time, make an m7 bios which is coloured and flash it to all off the 256k banks in the 4th slot, then get hold of the executer 2 bios that is 512k and flash that to both the 512 slots, then it dont matter which position the dips are in, if the xbit is seated correctly it will boot to either an m7 or an executer 2 bios. All you need to worry about is the 4th switch which needs to be in the off postion.
From my understanding, the green led light will light up wether the xbit is seated correctly or not, this light just means that it is getting power, which it gets from the LPC slots, its the d0 position you need to be worried about, but as you say you are fragging when you switch on, this almost certainly looks as though the XBIT is trying to boot from its own bios onboard and i bypassing the M$ bios, because if the d0 wasnt in, you would still get a green light, and the xbox would boot to its own bios and dashboard.
I hope you have more luck.

yo, I was in your boat, pogo and fragging. I wired mine in and I'm still fragging. Yup. But I enjoy the challege of modding stuff, I just hate it when I get no results in the end.
So if you don't want to solder, don't bother probably won't change anything.
I'm fragging with a wired x-bit in a v1.4 not matter how I flash and I am using M7 bios. Flash prog says it sent ok and verified ok. I'm stuck there.
good luck

I had the same exact problem. I could only come up with a guess that it was the bios not being found, even though I verified it too. I brought home a laptop from work and it worked right away. SO...if you haven't already my suggestion is flash with a friends PC or something. It's better than soldering and that still not doing the trick.
The only problem I am still having is that it will "frag" with switch 4 on. There are quite a few posts about this now...with few answers. Does anyone know if flashing one of the slots of the chip with the factory bios will get you banned from LIVE? Thanks...hope this helps
