Use SlaYers Autoinstall disc to restore your ms dashboard.

Doesnt that only work if you have your xbox setup to look for evoxdash instead of xboxdash????

What chip/BIOS do you have?

Are you able to load EvoX (I'm assuming so, cause you were able to FTP into your xbox to add a copy of the ms dash)?

Go to your evox.ini file, and look at the curret bios hash you are running. such as...

CODE
Current  = 0x5aec431e5fefb8cf420dfb29fa0b1ddb

Cross reference your hash with know BIOS hashes and you can figure out what bios you have. After you know what BIOS it is, you can determine what files it is looking to boot off the c: partition.

Or, the easiest thing would be just to flash your bios with 4977. Then you can change your xboxdash.xbe to evoxdash.xbe and create a ms dash under the name xboxdash.xbe.

Error 21 - anywhere - This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag

Probably a bad xboxdash.xbe file. Delete your xboxdash.xbe file and rename your oldxboxdash.xbe file to xboxdash.xbe

I tried updating the bios to the new M7 bios but it it tells me it cant write to it. And still no luck. I tried to flash it through the flash section of EVOX is that right?? I looked in my evox.ini and it tells me:

Current = 0xe78262e21ce24644415d96d9df6f64e4

which my search shows a match to:
ROM = "E-X Final 4034",0xE78262E21CE24644415D96D9DF6F64E4
What does this mean??

that whole setup is a mess...what is that "default.xbe" and why is it even there? and that xboxdash.xbe seems a bit too small thats what the ms dash should be named and bigger than 700k and u have an oldxboxdash.xbe play with the files an name them accordingly

evox = evoxdash.xbe
ms = xboxdash.xbe not this msxboxdash.xbe stuff and default.xbe whatever that is you always leave the xboxdash.xbe alone
AlCoTrAz
With out an updated bios the xbox always boots up to xboxdash and not evox dash right?? But I cant seem to upgrade my bios i get an error saying cant write to??

take off the flash protection jumper or flip a switch if you have one to allow writing to the chip
