i want to use xbox live so does this have a on and off switch and how do i know if i have it on or off?

are you talking about the modd chips?? if so .. w/c one?? the matrix or the chameleon??

chameleon has a few ways to turn it off

Software and hardware

Software disable can be achived by using the latest Evox dash and the INI settings found on the root section of this forums (pinned) where you can select from your dash the Disable chip option and it will restart with the chip disabled (until next reboot)

Hardware disable is used in mode 4 in conjuction with the P and E point (as seen in the manual) this way you can turn the chip off by pressing Eject (for 2 seconds) and the xbox will power up with the chip disabled and the tray will eject so you can put in a game.
