Recently bought the Cham. chip 1.3 .. it came with a pin header so i soldered that onto the xbox, following the guides.

The problem is when i put the chip into the xbox the xbox wont boot and flashes green and reed after 3 self reboots. When taking the chip out the xbox works fine.

Hearing about the fact the preflashed bios on the cham chip isnt compatible with the xbox v1.4, i decided to put it into my friends xbox which has a fully operational mod chip in it. His xbox is a v1.2 and already has pin headers soldered onto the board. When i plugged in my cham. chip into his xbox it did the same thing as mine , reboot and then power and eject button flashed red and green.

Also the LED on the Cham. chip doesnt light up blue in either xboxes.


I think the bios is screwed on the cham. chip (if there even is one in there.)

Just wondering if its possible to flash it without and external programmer??

Or without using another xbox.

This is what i did, I removed 4 pins (the ones i was told to take out from the adaptor manual) from the pin header, and i soldered it onto the board.

I placed the cham. chip onto the pins, making sure it fitted in properly.

The Dip and Bank where all off.

I connected a copper wire between D0 on the cham chip and D0 on the xbox board.

Assembling the xbox, i plug the plugs in and turned the xbox on, didnt see the LED light up on the xbox, and the xbox restarted x2, and then the eject and power button flashed green and red.

The tv remained black, no imaged showed up.

Can you see a fault in the way i installed the mod chip??

as i recall you only remove 1 pin not 4

Yuo can hot swap your chip on a modded xbox and reflash it via Evox
