This is my first attempt at this new version. I have done 10 AppleX v3 chips and 1 AppleX Pro, but I'm having trouble with this new version.

With the previous 2 chip versions, the D1 was on the eject button, but now all the diagrams I've found require D1 to be on the R3G3 chip.

I'm not entirely sure that's the problem I've having, but I'm using the alternative D0 (which I always do) and I checked that with a multimeter. The XBOX turns on every time showing the Green X which means the chip never turns on.

There is no LED on this version, so I can't even tell if it's turning on.

Has anyone done this chip yet? Does anyone know how i can tell if the chip's even getting power?

Thanks,

But I actually had it all hooked up correctly. I just didn't know that you had to hold down the power button for 2 seconds.

It's so tricky.

I went home and plugged it in, and held down the power button, and sure enough it worked.

Thanks again though.

If you don't plan on using Xbox Live then just connect D0 directly to ground. That way no matter how they turn the xbox on it will load the BIOS on the Apple mod.

The alternate point B for the AppleX V is the same. I try it, makes the dvdrom go in & out without pushing the button.
