My little brother's xbox has been working fine for months since I modded it but now all of the sudden when you turn it on it stays on for a little while but then screen goes blank and it starts blinking orange only it looks like it might be half yellow too. Now it's my understanding that this is probably and overheating issue and it's pretty warm too, but why all of the sudden is this a problem? I have the exact same thing in my xbox and no overheating issues. Does anyone have any ideas?

Check the fans, it IS due to overheating. This is serious, make sure the wires are correct.

Problem solved! It turns out when I opened his xbox up the other day to hotswap one of those xecuter 2.2 lites with the no good bios I must have been rushing and pissed about all the trouble it was giving me and put the dvd back down too hard cause it seems that the plastic tray cut the black wire on the fan. I soldered the two wires back together and wrapped it in electrical tape and now the fan is working again.
