My Xbit chip has stopped working, I have had it for about 2 months and its been fine.

Then all of a sudden I started to get the error code 5 (hdd not locked) so to get evox to boot i had to press in the 2 pogo pins on there own that sit on the thin bit pointing in towards the board (d0?) This worked fin for a couple of days, now both the pins have come out and to make matters worse i have lost one of the pins. sad.gif

Is the anything I can do to sort this or I am I best spending £50 getting either the xbit soldered by whitedog or £50 for an alladin and installation from playstationchips.co.uk. I like the xbit though as its really easy to flash just by using the usb cable.

Any recommendations

Some punctuation might help...
but if you were creative you could probably deal with this problem your self. For example, you could paint d0 with some conductive paint. Then, use a little wad of aluminum foil in place of the d0 pogo. Once it is tested and works, hot glue the foil to the board so it doesnt move out of place.

Yeah, You say you lost one pin. Look at the xbox M.B. to see wich d0 pogo pin is in use. you only need one. Put the pogo pin you have in the hole that you need to use. Then take a solder iron and touch the top of all the pogo pins to resolder them in good and tight.
The manufacturer did a shit job of soldering those fuckers in. The other guy had a good idea too if you lost em both or all. Or just solder the wire thing in and never worry again.
Hope this helps, might be a little late huh?
